If you ignore the magical transformation sequences and the talking dinosaurs, everyone in this series becomes your average, normal everyday people. And that is what this series is about: everyday people facing everyday problems (well, most of the scenarios anyway).

Among other topics covered in this series, one particularly prevalent one is about growing up. As this type of series tend to be for younger audiences, this theme is no surprise. Different from most others though, this theme remains consistently throughout. And that is what's most interesting about it: characters continuously evaluate the past, present, and future, as opposed to relying on magic to do the bidding.

It was not shallow at all. Much better than average mahou shoujo, definitely worth watching again.
