Wandering negotiator, also a good swordsman.

Unlike some other sword fighting series, Kenshin spends lots of effort not killing his opponents. Also interesting is how Kenshin and every character in this series explains how their skills work to defeat their opponents. The audience can't really tell whether their explanations are serious or not, but it gave a lot of depth to all the fight scenes.

Fight scenes aside, 95 is a lot of time investment to watch. It was great for its time, but the later OAVs are much more worthwhile.
