Mental sea crafts.

Battling ships that come to gain human-like personalities. The story elements were quite interesting, although the main highlight was definitely the well animated battle scenes, which was definitely a visual improvement over the original manga. The anime is almost entirely CG animated, but the CG does not get in the way of the presentation at all. Overall, a series well worth watching.

The visual improvements are actually closest to the original manga series, since most of the ships at least resemble the original designs. Much of the other elements in the original manga series were cut, and the remainder were rearranged. The manga series is definitely worth reading, but readers should expect major differences between these two works.
