Rock band with a shy guitarist.

Based on the manga series of the same name, this series followed the growth of Gotou Hitori, starting as a loner and eventually come to do multiple live performances as part of a band. The "girls band" concept might sound superficially similar to K-On, but this series had just about the opposite cast of personalities, and had a distinct visual style that is a mix of serious and comic plus a bit of live action, and great music to support it all. This series had depth that was unmatched by other contemporary series and is worth watching over and over.

Bocchi the Rock is one of two best things that happened in 2022 (the other is Lycoris Recoil).
