"Puella Magi Madoka Magica, The Novel" by Hajime Ninomae. I bought this book purely for the cover art by Aoki Ume. The main content of book is a mostly faithful retelling of the original story, but took some abuse telepathy to do so in first person perspective. This adaptation did not work well.
The cover was worth it, and the opening color drawing was a bonus. Otherwise, I prefer "Madoka Magica The Beginning Story", which included all the original dialogues and basically had more content in fewer pages.
