"Rokujou", volume 9 of the "Hikaru ga Chikyuu ni Ita Koro" series by Nomura Mizuki. Most people probably read this series because of Bungaku Shoujo series: same author and illustrator, similar structure in modern mystery paralleling old books. The biggest difference is probably the lack of really perverted and mentally disturbed characters in this series. Well, in this second to last volume, here comes the one perverted and mentally disturbed character.
Actually this character is not new -- the same "Rokujou" person who first appeared in volume 4 is the main character for this volume, and readers might be able to guess this from cover art. This volume turned out to be quite pleasant to read, probably because most events went the way I expected and there were not too many surprises. The most surprising thing was perhaps the 2 page typographic trick.
A highlight of this volume is Koremitsu's unnecessarily dramatic confession of his love (to the one girl I expected). This probably concludes all the harem scenarios, but who knows. The only bit left for the final volume is Hikaru's murder mystery.
