"Eromanga Sensei" volume 7 by Fushimi Tsukasa. The light novel series that is about to be animated writes about the light novel series that is about to be animated.
Being animated is no surprise since it was announced at the end of volume 6, but being assigned a slacker scriptwriter was an interesting feature. It's yet another new character, one that made procrastination an art, and one who managed to embed herself in Masamune's household. Thanks to this quirky character, readers are constantly reminded that this is a work of fiction, and any harsh schedule that the original author had to cope with during anime production do not necessarily reflect reality... or do they? It was interesting just to think about the meta bits of this novel series, and how the Eromanga Sensei anime production is going right now.
New characters aside, it was fun to follow the continued development of existing characters, especially with the relationship between Masamune and Sagiri. The dialogues were really sweet, and the highlight for me was Sagiri saying "everything you did for other girls, you must do them for me as well!" It was romantic comedy at its best.
Next volume will probably be released around the same time that the anime starts broadcasting, perhaps it will be another meta experience.
