"Eromanga Sensei" volume 8 by Fushimi Tsukasa. This is a recap episode.
This summary probably does not sound as exciting as some other ones, a more catchy summary might be "this is the volume where everyone tries to sleep with Masamune", and that would have been accurate for the first chapter. Really, the first chapter was good fun and didn't need a clickbait summary to sell it, but the rest of this volume does felt a bit like a recap episode.
It's not like typical anime recap episodes where old content is recycled, but it did use a similar technique in linking flashback segments with short interludes, and it was serving the same purpose -- buying breathing room for the author in a rigid release schedule. Organization for this volume might have felt slightly weak, but it was all new content and still worth reading. In particular, the backstory of Sagiri's first encounter with Masamune's blazing fast writing skills really connected everything together. It was the highlight that made the cover for this volume.
This volume didn't follow the "defeat the new boss and make friends" pattern that were prevalent in previous volumes, and took the more surefooted strategy to build up existing character instead... and then returned to the usual pattern of ending with a cliffhanger.
