"Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!" (bless this wonderful world!) volume 14 by Akatsuki Natsume. This volume maintains the consistency of "nothing serious ever happens in Konosuba".
The story started by revisiting Kouma Village, first seen in volume 5. We got to see some impressive magic being used for mundane purposes, such as starting a tornado for doing laundry. We also get a tour of a large mysterious facility and discover the shocking connection between Kouma clan and vending machines, and Megumin promptly erasing that bit of history. The Kouma clan continued to be both weird and glorious as usual.
The motivation of returning to Kouma Village was for Yunyun to complete the rites to become the chief of Kouma clan, which she did by the end of the volume. This is the highlight of this volume, not because of the embarrassing and unlucky challenges that Yunyun had to go through, but for all the character developments right after Yunyun accomplished this goal. Kazuma and Megumin would go on to hunt dangerous and offbeat monsters in high spirits (with explosions) to compensate for Yunyun victory against Megumin, while Yunyun would convince herself to postpone her chief role and follow Megumin to Axel. The depiction of both rivalry and friendship between Megumin and Yunyun was very well done, and in good humor that is true to the spirit of this series.
Kazuma was with Megumin pretty much throughout the entire book, including the nights where they slept in the same room. But nothing serious ever happens. "We know someone is going to interrupt us anyways" as Kazuma predicted, which continues to be the norm for this series. A new well-proportioned female character appeared later in this volume, with an epic story on how the demon lord came into being and how she wished to join Kazuma's party, but this is not a typical harem series and that's just not the kind of development that happens in Konosuba. Nothing serious happens, only Kazuma's expert application of "steal" skills to remove random underwear.
It's the same party continuing on their inconsequential quests as usual, but looks like all the henchmen have been revealed as of this volume. Looking forward to see how this story will develop, with nothing serious happening as usual.
