"Imouto sae Ireba Ii" (all good as long as we have younger sister) volume 11 by Hirasaka Yomi. The long awaited resolution to the crisis from the previous volume 10 did not happen in this volume.
Many things actually took a turn for the worse. Itsuki is having a serious case of imposter syndrome after learning many dramatic backstories about the people around him. Chihiro discovered the feelings that she never understood before, and things immediately turn dark a few pages after that. And then there is this new author from volume 6 that suddenly discovered that he might not have withheld enough income to pay taxes. Stuff might have just gotten a bit too real, especially with the last bit, but there were also sufficient amount of comedy for good balance.
One of the best comic moments comes from this volume's dose of light novel industry info, and it has to do with the extra band of advertisement that goes around the cover. This bit of packaging can critically affect sales numbers, and is the responsibility of the editor. The chapter on this topic was informative in the kinds of ideas that were considered, and all the examples used to illustrate them were totally over the top with many references to famous people. Hopefully we will get more of these in the remaining volumes.
This volume includes a chapter on a card game named "Too Many Sisters" (a variation of "Too Many Cinderellas"), the actual card game is included in the special edition of volume 11. I wouldn't buy the special edition for the game, but the special cover with Chihiro made it worthwhile for me.
The end is near with this series. There is a good chance that Chihiro will not get the best ending despite being the best sister character (as confirmed by the included card game), but I am hoping for at least moderately good endings for most characters.
