"5fun de Odoroku! Dondengaeshi no monogatari" (Be surprised in 5 minutes! Stories with a twist). A collection of short stories featuring a twist, from the same publisher as the previous series.
This one fared better than other collections that I bought. For one, this one didn't have that nudist detective. It still have a fair share of crime related stories nonetheless, and some of them managed to capture the highlights of murder mystery novels despite their very concise text. The twists weren't particularly surprising, but they have been quite pleasant to read. This was the kind of book I was looking forward to reading after reading the cafe collection.
I am not sure I would be buying more of this series since the quality varies wildly, but I am thankful that it served as a sampler for new authors I might like.
