Standing figures

Being able to stand still is an under-appreciated feature.

I recently bought the nendoroid doll version of Gotoh Hitori, pictured here with the nendoroid version of the same character. One notable feature is that Bocchi the doll is standing on her own, despite sharing the same top heavy head as nendoroids. Bocchi the nendoroid is supported by a paperclip on the back.

How well a figure stands up is usually not something I think about when I buy a figure, which would explain how I ended up with all these wobbly nendoroids, and it has been a constant struggle to try to take pictures of them (except Miku). Sometimes I lean them against something else that's stable, sometimes I prop them up with small pieces of wood or rock. I might use nendoroid stands depending on the terrain, but generally I avoid those because it's a real pain to erase them afterwards. I like nendoroids because their sizes makes it easy to take some types of photos, but I do wish they were more stable.

Then come nendoroid doll Bocchi-chan, my first nendoroid doll and one of the rare instances where I have multiple figures of the same character. And she stands on her own. My wish has been granted.

My next wish is a nendoroid doll Kita-chan...
