SotN: Legion

I have fought Legion a few hundred times, and have developed some opinions about best and worst ways to play Symphony of the Night in the process.

• Good ideas:
  • Alucard sword.
  • Shield rod + Alucard shield.
  • Soul steal.
  • Knife subweapon, for both Alucard and Richter.
• Good ideas, but requires farming (usually takes 10-30 minutes per item):
  • Valmanway.
  • Masamune.
  • Shield rod + Dark shield.
• Good ideas, but requires grinding (usually takes ~1 hour to get enough money for Duplicator, no grinding required if you use other means to make money fast):
  • Yagyuu Shuriken.
  • Power of Father.
• Bad ideas:
  • Red rust.
  • Estoc.
  • Vibhuti subweapon, for both Alucard and Richter.
• Bad ideas, and requires farming or grinding:
  • Capsule monster 3.
  • Depth charge.
• So bad it's good:
  • Shield rod + axe armor shield.
  • Bomber coin.

After the 10th kill or so, it's more of a project than a hobby to exhaustively try all the ways to kill Legion. I would like to say this project is mostly done now, not because I have gotten tired of killing Legion but because I broke my control pad.
